3 ways to wear a tailored tweed jacket
There are wardrobe staples and then there’s the tweed blazer: an outerwear piece so versatile, flattering and timeless that its fan base spans Princess Diana to Kaia Gerber. As the weather cools and we begin to pull together our autumn and winter ensembles, acquiring the perfect tweed blazer is priority number one at BAZAAR HQ, thanks, in part, to recent nods on the runway from Celine, Thom Browne and Chanel.
But as a stalwart of British style, it’s only fitting that our favourite iterations come hand-made from historic British mills. Take Really Wild, for example, which crafts pieces that evoke our isle's rich heritage of cutting-edge fashion, using sustainably sourced materials and local manufacturers. All of Really Wild’s knitwear and iconic tweed is woven using cashmere and wool from some of Scotland’s oldest mills, including the legendary Lovat Mill nestled in Hawick, a picturesque Scottish Borders town.
Here, we show you three ways to wear the tweed jacket for this season, and every season afterward.
1. Country pursuits
The combination of a dropping temperature and the renaissance of inter-British travel equals one thing: stylish weekends spent out of the city. Long ambles in the country require the right wardrobe: a heady mix of practicality (stretchy warm leggings, lug-soled boots) and style (an oversized printed scarf, a perfectly proportioned overcoat). Reach for Really Wild’s red checked ‘Shacket’, then add an oversized knit by Jil Sander, comfortable trousers, and Khaite’s elevated take on the old-fashioned wellie.
2. Time for brunch

Really Wild’s single-breasted beige iteration is made with 100% new wool tweed and is best worn with slightly-flared blue-wash jeans by Citizens of Humanity, sky-high pumps à la Jimmy Choo, and a silk pussy-bow blouse by Saint Laurent. Extra points for a red lip.
3. Work the room

Don’t change a thing — just add the right coat. Really Wild's Wetherby Coat in Navy Tan is the perfect overcoat for town or country, crafted from a Scottish lambswool tweed in a stunning navy and tan plaid. The neat peter pan collar accentuates the relaxed silhouette, and the raglan sleeve gives it an unstructured feel which lends itself to throw on over chunky knits or tailoring, making it the ideal companion for your trusty beige ribbed dress and sensible black mule office uniform. Just add a statement drop necklace and a new season top-handle tote (you can never go wrong with Bottega), and you’re good to go.
