6 Ways to Experience the Best of Verbier- Verbier Travel Guide
Located in the heart of the Swiss Alps, the tiny village of Verbier has been on the radars of in-the-know travelers and skiers for decades. On one hand, it’s a jet set mountain getaway for royalty and socialites; on the other, it offers some of the best alpine terrain in Europe.
Whether you’re an Olympic-level skier or prefer to view the slopes from the comfort of a cozy cocktail bar, it's also a place infused with style. Along with our guide on how to plan the perfect trip, discover Moncler Grenoble's latest collection, a bevy of chic pieces suited for the slopes and beyond. The label—named for the French village where it originated in 1952—has gone back to its roots by mixing traditional and never-seen-before unreleased fabrics with technical features. The result? for The Ultimate Adventurer
While most people know Verbier for its glitzy après-ski scene and posh royal connections, true alpine insiders understand it as one of the premiere backcountry ski destinations in the world. In short, adrenaline-seekers will not be disappointed. We asked Philippe May, director of Verbier’s École Suisse de Ski, for his insider information about the most thrilling runs (and re-fuel spots) on the mountain.
Arctic Juice & Café: Located inside the W Hotel, it’s the best place to grab a healthy breakfast before making first tracks on the slopes. Try the cold-pressed green juices for lasting energy.

Mont Fort: “Go all the way up to the top of the resort to Mont Fort. On one side you have a view of Mont Blanc, and on the other you see the Matterhorn," says May. "We have a huge ski resort, and the off-piste offering is fantastic for more advanced skiers. You really can feel like you're alone on the mountain.”
Le Pub Mont Fort: While there are many slope-side cabins to stop in for a snack, May says Verbier’s best skiers grab lunch at this mountainside chalet. “It’s a very nice atmosphere—very convenient, and right at the bottom of the lift,” he says.
Château d’Adrien: The old-school, grande dame of Verbier’s hotels, any skier worth her salt has stayed—or dined—here at one point or another.
Restaurant Le Caveau: It would’t be a trip to Switzerland without eating your weight in mouthwatering melted cheese, and Restaurant Le Caveau has the best fondue in town. There are two sittings each night, and reservations are recommended.

for The Aprés-Skier
Even if you're more of a leisurely skier, there's plenty to explore in Verbier. After all, it wouldn’t be a proper ski day in Switzerland if you skipped out on the aprés-ski scene.

Farinet Aprés Ski: If it’s a rowdy, plein air, wear-your-boots-to-the-lodge type of atmosphere you’re after, then this is the spot. There’s live music every single night, and the party gets going around mid-afternoon.
Shed: If ever there was such thing as a chic hamburger spot, this would be it. The Swedish owners ensure that this Verbier must-visit always has a sexy vibe, and delicious, satisfying burgers. After a day burning calories on the slopes, there’s no better treat.
Farm Club: For nearly 40 years, this iconic nightclub has been the place to see and be seen for a late night out on the mountain. Just make sure to wear your best alpine chic—you just might run into some royalty while you’re there.
Le Rouge: If you're on the hunt for something low key (and far away from rowdy table dancers), swing by this local favorite. It has a lovely view of the slopes, so you can watch skiers come down the hill as you enjoy a much-deserved cocktail.

If skiing isn’t quite your style—or if it is, and you need a serious come-down after you come down the mountain—spend some time exploring Verbier’s spa scene. From sleek and modern to classic Swiss, there’s something for everyone.

AWAY Spa at W Hotel: If you aren’t a guest of the hotel (which you should be, as it’s the most centrally located in town), at the very least you can visit the AWAY Spa. The indoor/outdoor heated pool is a crucial pitstop while you’re in town, and skin treatments from La Prairie and Phyto 5 will ensure your face is looking its best.
Spa Nuxe du Chalet: Located inside the Chalet d’Adrien is an unassuming, luxurious spa using exclusive products from French skincare brand Nuxe. There's an entire hydrotherapy circuit with saunas, steam rooms, and pools, but we suggest springing for the full-body gommage scrub.
Chalet Spa Verbier: A quintessential Swiss spa: impeccable design, impeccable service, and a supreme sense of mountainside serenity. Bring a book and spend the whole afternoon going between the cedar-lined sauna and the heated pools. C’est sublime.

Admit it—you can’t go anywhere without buying a souvenir to bring home. Luckily, there are more than enough boutiques and shops to explore while you’re here.

Moncler Grenoble: When it comes to high-performing, high-style mountain wear, it’s hard to beat Moncler Grenoble. The brand's traditional fabrics are perfectly balanced with technical features, and the current collection includes everything you'd need for a day on—or off— the slopes.
La Marmotte: If you need a glamorous mountain dinner to show off your new purchases, try this insider spot, known for strong drinks and traditional Swiss food. Located partway up the mountain, you can either hike (unlikely) or take a snow cat up (quite likely). After dinner, take a a toboggan back down into town.
