Dakota Johnson Looks Like a Black Widow Who Will Bite in This Edgy Ensemble

Throughout the press tour for her new superhero film, Madame Web, Dakota Johnson has been unflagging in her efforts to wear only black and red (or “spidercore”), and yesterday’s look had a particular bite.

The Fifty Shades of Grey star was on her way to Late Night With Seth Meyers when she was spotted wearing a totally see-though dress from Tom Ford. The black knitted maxi gown featured an opaque turtleneck and an ombré skirt that got darker as it got closer to the ground. The middle section was completely transparent, but Johnson layered a black bodysuit underneath, creating peekaboo blocks of bare skin across her torso.

In a clever move, Johnson (with the help of stylist Kate Young) added a pair of thigh-high black Bottega Veneta boots underneath, which ended up perfectly aligning with the darker portion of her skirt. Meanwhile, the actor added an extra oomph to the edgy ensemble by layering a black leather jacket from Gucci on top, which featured large silver zipper details and a protruding pocket above the bottom hem, which was decorated with buckles on the side.

Of course, Johnson wasn’t going to step out without a few drops of crimson. She incorporated the color with her blood-red accessories, including retro rectangular Gucci sunglasses with a golden monogram on the side, as well as a cherry-red leather mini bag, also from Gucci—which featured a golden chain handle and hook hardware across the middle. If fashion looks could kill, this one would’ve totally taken us out.
