Emma Roberts Wears An Ode to Julia Roberts Oscar Win to the 2017 Oscars Emma Roberts Academy Awa
Emma Roberts arrived at the 89th Annual Academy Awards in a vintage Armani Privé gown. The starlet chose a vintage dress in collaboration with the Red Carpet Green Dress initiative, aimed at encouraging and raising awareness to environmentally friendly fashion. RCGD's focus on sustainable fashion had the actress choosing a vintage piece that paid homage to the historic velvet and satin Valentino look her "Aunt Julia" donned in 2001.

While Emma's gown was a lot more ethereal in two different colors of lace, and far more bare with an even more plunging V-neckline and open back, the younger Roberts admits that even back in 2001, she wanted her aunt to sport the classic color combination. She told Ryan Seacrest on E!'s telecast, that they all encouraged her to wear the "skunk dress," and owned the ode her frock paid to Julia's undeniably iconic Oscar moment.

To modernize her archive piece and complement her strawberry blond locks, Emma paired hers with polished finger waves and a red lip–while Julia opted for minimal makeup and a statement bouffant bun. The two looks may not be identical–and Emma may not be taking home a golden statue this evening–but we can't help but fall hard for a sartorial tribute.
