Kate Middleton & Justin Trudeau Have Been Friends Since Royal Tour of Canada in 2016
Duchess Kate stepped out solo this week for a special reception at Buckingham Palace, which was hosted for NATO leaders by the queen.
The Duchess of Cambridge looked stunning in a green dress, which she accessorized with a pair of diamond teardrop earrings borrowed from Queen Elizabeth. And during the event, she was spotted talking to Justin Trudeau, the prime minister of Canada.
The royal family's official Twitter account shared a photo of Kate with Trudeau, writing, "The Princess Royal, The Duchess of Cambridge, and The Duke and Duchess of Gloucester meet NATO leaders, members of delegations and @NATO staff in the Picture Gallery."
The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge spent time with Trudeau and his wife, Sophie Gregoire Trudeau, during a royal tour of Canada in 2016. It seems that Kate and William developed a friendship with Trudeau and his wife during the trip.

Understandably, Kate seemed happy to be reunited with Trudeau during the reception, which saw leaders from all over the world convene at Buckingham Palace. Kate was joined by several other royal family members including Princess Anne, Prince Charles, Duchess Camilla, and the evening's host, Queen Elizabeth.
