Kate Moss Takes the Naked Dress to New Heights in Sheer Hooded Gown

Publish date: 2024-05-16

Kate Moss is going for the gold.

While attending WSJ. Magazine's 2022 Innovator Awards at New York City's Museum of Modern Art last night, the iconic supermodel made a dazzling red-carpet appearance in a new take on the naked dress.

Wearing a look straight from Saint Laurent's spring 2023 runway, Moss looked elegant in a sheer golden yellow floor-length gown. The top half of the dress featured a triangular abdominal cutout, as well as ruched fabric along the bustier. The material also gathered into a delicate hood, which Moss wore over her high-bun updo.

The model continued to up the ante with her accessories, opting for diamond statement earrings, a long chain necklace with an amber crystal pendant, thick black bangles, and a silver chain-link arm cuff.

This isn't the first time Moss has made the naked dress part of her style oeuvre. Back in 1993, she wore an entirely see-through metallic silver slipdress—a party look that helped catapult the so-called "naked dress" to the forefront of the decade's fashion era.

Moss reflected on the unintentional impact of her style choice in an interview with British Vogue earlier this year.

"I did not know that this dress was see-through until the pictures came out the next day in the newspaper," she said, per Yahoo! Life. "It was the flash that made it look naked 'cause actually the fabric when I was wearing it, when I went out I didn't think it was that see-through. But, obviously, it was."
