Paris Hilton's Versace make-up was as iconic as her outfit
The Versace shows are always a key talking point of Milan Fashion Week. Whether reuniting the original Nineties supermodels, getting Jennifer Lopez back into that iconic green jungle dress, or hailing the return of pink with Paris Hilton playing a caricature of herself circa The Simple Life, they define a moment.
For the latter, closing the fashion house's spring/summer 2023 runway, heiress Hilton modelled a spangly minidress with coordinating accessories (including a veil – apt for the newlywed). Her make-up, executed by Steven Tabimba, was the least pink thing about the look, though hints of the hue were certainly present. It also nodded to the bridal theme, presenting the perfect make-up inspiration for brides-to-be – albeit ultra glam ones.
Using Pat McGrath Labs, the make-up comprised of perfected skin and defined contours, structured eyes with graphic black flicks and an exaggerated pinky-nude glossy pout. Sparkle-free, the look had an elegance to it as well as a wearability.
For the eye make-up, Tabimba used the shades Peony and Nude Nectar from the new Mothership Mega: Celestial Nirvana Palette. This was framed with the PermaGel Ultra Glide Eye Pencil and the Perma Precision Liquid Eyeliner, both in Xtreme Black, plus the Fetisheyes Mascara. On Hilton's cheeks, the Divine Blush + Glow Cheek Palette in Divine Rose was used, while for the lips, the SatinAllure Lipstick in Nude Romantique II (from the Bridgerton collection) was sandwiched between the PermaGel Ultra Lip Pencil in Contour, and the Lust: Gloss in Prima Donna.

It's not dissimilar to the look Tabimba – being Hilton's regular make-up artist – gave the star for another event last week. "It’s giving retro Barbie," as he put it, which is a fitting description of the look which marries with Hilton's personal brand so well.
Frankly, Versace's take on Barbiecore (inspired by Greta Gerwig’s in-production film) only cements its place in the zeitgeist for next year as well as the remainder of this one. And 41-year-old Paris feels like an appropriate poster girl for the trend. We're here for it.
