Rosamund Pike Embodies Her 'Saltburn' Character at the 2024 Golden Globes
Is it cold in here or is it just ice queen Rosamund Pike’s iconic Golden Globes entrance?
The actor tonight embodied her shameless, powerful, gorgeous Saltburn character in a dramatic black lace dress and matching headpiece. The vintage Dior gown featured a strapless, fitted bodice and ample skirt completely made up of layered black lace florals. Meanwhile, the long sleeves and tall neckline were made up of a black mesh fabric with black lace flowers scattered throughout.
Pike’s headpiece—by Philip Treacy—was also made of a sheer, heart-shaped net covered in black flowers and topped, almost ironically, with a pretty little bow. Funeral chic?

Pike let the bold gown and headpiece do the talking, finishing the look simply with silky black platform sandals and two large white gold and diamond Plume de Paon rings from Boucheron. She contrasted her melodramatic all-black ensemble with dainty, rosy glam by Dior Beauty (including an electric pink blush), and she had her hair pulled back in a neat bun.
Pike is up for 2024 Best Performance by a Female Actor in a Supporting Role in Any Motion Picture for her role in Saltburn, a chaotic dark drama about a young man who becomes obsessed with his friend’s wealthy family. Pike plays Elspeth Catton, the beautiful, rich, entitled matriarch in the film. The movie’s lead, Barry Keoghan, is also nominated tonight for his performance.
After Variety’s Marc Malkin pointed out tonight that her red-carpet look evokes her Saltburn character, Pike said, “Well, you know, you have to channel it, don’t you?”
“Either a sort of weird funeral vibe or maybe she wore black for her wedding,” she added.
