Also opting for a bridal-inspired look was Elizabeth Olsen, who looked beautiful in a lace panelled gown by Vivienne Westwood, which – of course – included a perfect corset. She accessorised with jewellery by Reza, and a bold red lip.

Jennifer Aniston kept things classic in a strapless black gown by Dolce & Gabbana, which had beaded scalloped detail on the skirt.

Hunter Schafer's sensational Prada dress was made for the red carpet – and really came to life as she moved. The pale pink design consisted of a slip dress that was covered in delicate sheer material which trailed behind her as she walked.

Carey Mulligan in vintage Schiaparelli

Making a statement with silhouette was Carey Mulligan, who chose a vintage Schiaparelli gown from 1949. The black fishtail dress had additional drama in the form of an embellished bust. Bulgari jewellery completed the look.
