The Duchess of Cambridge's iconic engagement dress is now available in a rainbow of colours

When the Duchess of Cambridge announced her engagement to Prince William back in 2010, the outfit she chose to wear – a dark blue Issa wrap dress – signalled, for the first time, the power of the ‘Kate effect’ and quickly sold out everywhere. Now, the brand has recreated the dress at a very affordable price in a rainbow of colours. Consider your spring wardrobe sorted.
Issa – which actually went into administration after struggling to cope with the unprecedented demand after Kate wore the label – relaunched in 2015 with House of Fraser and is now selling the wrap dress in a rainbow of hues including emerald green, yellow, orange and lime.

Although the original dress retailed for £430, these recreations – which are aptly called 'The Kate Tie Wrap dress' – sit at the much more affordable price point of £99. The green dress is already available online and the other colours come out at the end of March.

This is not the first time that Issa designer Daniella Helayel has recreated the famous dress at a more affordable price. In 2016, she made a 14-piece collection for Monsoon, which also considered a similar Kate-inspired wrap dress.
