There was a 'Suits' cast reunion at the Golden Globes
The cult classic TV show Suits may not have debuted a new episode for four years, but it's still as popular as ever – case in point, the massive excitement when four of the cast members reunited at the 2024 Golden Globes.
Patrick J. Adams (Mike Ross) and Gabriel Macht (Harvey Specter) made an appearance on the red carpet together at the 81st annual awards ceremony on Sunday night, and were later joined on stage by Gina Torres (Jessica Pearson) and Sarah Rafferty (Donna Paulsen), to present the award for Outstanding Drama Series – won by HBO hit Succession.

Shortly after Suits was re-released on Netflix in June, the series broke the Nielsen streaming record for acquired programming, netting a whopping 3.1 billion viewing minutes during its first week.
“It’s an amazing thing,” Macht said, speaking to ET ahead of the ceremony about the viewing spike. “We had some great success when the show was on. All over the world there were people pirating, downloading it. At a certain point, Netflix came in and said, ‘Why don’t we put this out there.’ And it’s just gotten incredible eyes. And we’re very grateful for it.”
Of course, one notable cast member was missing. Meghan, the Duchess of Sussex – who played Rachel Zane – wasn't present at the Globes and nor was her husband, Prince Harry.

On the red carpet, Torres told Variety that the cast has a group chat together, where they're “all texting each other.” Markle is not part of the chat, as “we don’t have her number,” she said. “We just don’t. So she’ll see, she’ll watch. She’ll be happy that we’re here [at the award show].”
Markle has been vocal about her support of the show, however. At Variety’s Power of Women event last year, she spoke to the outlet about Suits' new-found streaming success, saying “Isn’t that wild?” She added that she had “no idea” what had caused the renewed interest in the series, but mentioned that “it was great to work on, such a great cast and crew”.
She continued: “We had a really fun time. I was on it for seven seasons, so quite a bit. But it’s hard to find a show you can binge-watch that many episodes of these days, so that could have something to do with it. But good shows are everlasting.”

She may be on to something: the series’ apparently enduring appeal means it’s allegedly getting the spin-off treatment, set in LA.
“I think it’s all in early stages,” Adams said at the Golden Globes. “It’s a show in the Suits universe, like a ‘Suits LA’. Anyway, our fearless showrunner Aaron [Korsh] is working on that. If I got the phone call, I’d be ready to suit up again. I loved the show, I loved the character and I loved working with all these people.”
At the mention of Markle potentially returning to the spinoff, Adams gamely played along with the possibility: “Sure, Mike and Rachel in Seattle, they gotta come down to LA and fix some stuff.” Markle's no-show at the Globes, however, all but confirmed that she won't be returning to her role as Rachel.

The Suits reunion wasn't the only newsworthy moment at last night's awards. Amanda Seyfried and Meryl Streep had a Mamma Mia! reunion of their own, Timothée Chalamet and Kylie Jenner made their relationship Hollywood official, and Hunter Schafer stole the red carpet in ethereal Prada.
