Shakira's hips don't lie, and neither does her bank account. Ever since she entered the music industry nearly three decades ago as a teenager, Shakira has carved out a respected reputation for herself as a singer and performer. And along the way, she's pocketed a lot of cash.

Net worths aren't necessarily public record, but Celebrity Net Worth estimates that the Colombian-born pop star is worth about $300 million. Pick your jaw up off the floor and keep reading to see where she kneads her dough.

Music

Shakira started her illustrious career when she was just a teenager in the early '90s. Since her first album, Magia, was released in 1991, she has produced 11 albums, with chart-toppers like Sale el Sol, El Dorado, and She Wolf.

Though the singer was already a star in the Latin music world, she cemented her status as a legend when she released her first primarily English-language album, Laundry Service, in 2001. The album debuted at number three on the Billboard 200 chart and sold more than 200,000 copies in its first week alone, according to Sony/ATV. Ultimately, it went on to sell more than three and a half million copies in the United States and four million copies in Europe.

Shakira's most well-known song, "Hips Don't Lie," took the world by storm with its 2006 release. Sony/ATV said that at the time, it set the record for one million U.S. digital download sales in the quickest time (nine weeks). It has since surpassed three and a half million U.S. sales, while its global download numbers have risen to an estimated 13 million copies.

In 2010, Shakira co-wrote and recorded the official song for that year's FIFA World Cup, which was held in South Africa. Global sales for the song, "Waka Waka (This Time for Africa)," hit at least 10 million units, Sony/ATV said.

Tours

Shakira has embarked on six tours over the course of her long career. Her most recent tour, the 2018 El Dorado World Tour, grossed $40.7 million in worldwide sales, according to Pollstar. Just the North American leg of the tour alone raked in at least $28 million, Billboard reported.

Another tour standout for Shakira is her 2010 The Sun Comes Out World Tour. One of the tour's sponsors during its Latin American leg, Pop Festival, reportedly grossed more than $13 million from March 12 to 27 in 2011, according to Billboard.

Shakira and J.Lo will not be paid for their Super Bowl Half Time Show, but that's common for performers at the big game because the gig offers so much exposure, Forbes reports. The costs for the production are covered by the NFL.

Entertainment

In 2008, Shakira reportedly signed a $300 million deal with entertainment venue company Live Nation (four years later, her ex-boyfriend and ex-manager sued her for $100 million, claiming that he was the "principal architect of her management team").

Shakira also signed on to be a judge on NBC's reality TV competition The Voice in 2013, appearing in Seasons 4 and 6. It's not public knowledge just exactly how much she was paid, but a source told The Hollywood Reporter that she received $12 million per season.
