Zendaya Dressed Like a Literal Sand Dune to Promote the Film

Zendaya and stylist Law Roach have been taking their game to the next level for the Dune: Part Two press tour, with shimmering golden gowns, spirally 3-D printed pieces, and now, a baggy ensemble that subtly nods to the film.

As Roach told Harper’s Bazaar last week: “I think of it as method dressing, kind of like method acting.” Well, that method dressing continued with Zendaya’s latest look, pulled straight from the Balmain Fall/Winter 2024 menswear runway.

For a press appearance in Paris on Tuesday, the Euphoria star stepped out in a slouchy sleeveless ensemble that totally resembled a sand dune. Not only did it come in a sandy brown color, it also featured layers of folded fabric along the neckline and across the torso, which gave the impression of lines in the sand. The abstract look was so artful, it didn’t come across as too on the nose, but rather, wildly chic.

The two-piece set featured a turtleneck top with big shoulder pads that created a straight line across Zendaya’s upper body. Along the bottom half of the top, the folded material created a drapery effect, while a circular indent along the ribs added an element of drama. The top was paired with matching wide-leg slacks, which pooled around her caramel pointed-toe heels. Finally, the actor accessorized with small golden hoop huggie earrings, and her hair was styled in tight cornrows on top of her head. If only we got a Dune press tour every season.
